Put On Your Hard Hats - Renovations Have Begun!

Since our last post A LOT has happened! We were officially handed the keys to the Wight Elephant storefront and it has been all work since then. While clearing everything out, we managed to find a couple of gems in this historical building.

The building that our storefront is in was built in the early 1800s, so we were dying to bring this space back to life. We were so excited when we started removing the drop ceiling to find these gorgeous tin ceiling tiles from the original building! Removing the first layer allows the store to get a little bit taller and the tin ceiling gives it this amazing antique vibe that we absolutely love.

After finding this treasure, we wanted to see if there was anything else hiding behind the plain white walls. To our excitement, we found the original brick lining the store! We were able to get rid of some of the paneling and allow this brick to really make a statement. Just wait until you see what we add to it!

One of my favorite parts of this whole process so far has to be the dressing room. I’m telling you ladies, you’re in for a treat when you come into Wight Elephant with this dressing room. It definitely doesn’t look like much now, but trust me, it will be amazing!

We have also begun shopping for the store, finding some amazing decor, and display items! Stay tuned for future blogs to get a sneak peak!!
